School Lunch Coordinator

Saint John the Baptist Catholic School in Jordan, MN is seeking a part-time School Lunch Coordinator to lead our lunch program with care, efficiency, and a heart for service. This is a part time position on school days, typically from 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks for students and staff, following the National School Lunch Program guidelines.

  • Manage food and supply orders, monthly menus, and state reporting requirements.

  • Oversee kitchen safety and cleanliness in compliance with local health codes.

  • Coordinate with volunteers and support staff in the kitchen.

  • Help with food preparation for occasional parish and school events (e.g. Soup Suppers, Fall Festival, Gala).

  • Build relationships with families by maintaining clear communication about lunch accounts and student needs.

Who You Are:

  • A team player with strong organizational and cooking skills (for 100+ people).

  • Friendly, reliable, and able to work independently.

  • Familiar with or willing to learn the requirements of the National School Lunch Program.

  • Able to create meals that children will enjoy and that meet program standards.

  • Committed to upholding the values of our Catholic school community (being Catholic is not required, but respect for our faith is essential).

Qualifications:

  • Current Food Service Manager and ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office).

  • First Aid training (or willingness to obtain).

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
