The school receives menus and food deliveries from a vendor.  The school lunch coordinator orders the appropriate amount of food from the vendor, accepts the delivery, does any needed final food preparation, serves the food while maintaining all food safety standards, and then cleans up the rooms and supplies.  The coordinator works with volunteers to accomplish these tasks.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve breakfast by setting out planned foods. Some will need to be heated in the oven, but many are ready to serve.

  • Track the number of students who eat breakfast, and then clean up.

  • Get snack carts ready for students, and get them to the right floors before snack time.

  • Order food for snacks.

  • Get the number of lunches needed to our vendor each day.

  • The vendor plans our lunch menus. Follow the menus to serve lunch to our students. Some items need to be prepared here, such as getting the salad bar ready. You’d need to do that.

  • Oversee kitchen safety and cleanliness in compliance with local health codes

  • Coordinate volunteers and support staff in the kitchen

  • Help with food preparation for occasional events (example: eighth grade graduation dinner, donuts for preschool parent visit day)

  • Maintain clear communication with families about lunch accounts and student allergies

Who You Are:

  • A practicing Catholic in good standing with the teachings of the Catholic Church

  • A team player with strong organizational and time management skills

  • Friendly, reliable, and able to work independently

  • Committed to upholding the values of our Catholic school community

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
