Part-Time Music Teacher

Part-Time Music Teacher (Tues and Fri preferred) – Starting August 2025, Jordan, MN

Saint John the Baptist Catholic School in Jordan is seeking a part-time Music Teacher to bring the joy of music to our Preschool through 8th-grade students.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Teach general music education to students in Preschool through Grade 8 using our wonderful resources or using things that you select!

  • Foster a love of music through singing, movement, instruments, and music theory

  • Build meaningful relationships with students and families

  • Use our wonderful instrument collection to get students involved in their learning!

  • Contribute to a faith-filled school community

  • Prepare students to share all they learned with our community at concerts (Note: Mass music is prepared by someone else.)

What We’re Looking For:

  • A practicing Catholic  who actively participates in the sacramental life of the Church

  • A licensed music teacher (preferred) or an individual with a degree in music education, choral direction, or a related field, or a degree in something else but a passion for music

  • Experience teaching music to elementary and/or middle school students (preferred)

  • Strong classroom management and communication

  • Ability to pass background checks and complete required safe environment training

Position Details:

  • Part-time position (2 days per week, prefer Tues. and Thurs., approx. 7:45-3:45)

  • Salary: Negotiable based on experience and qualifications
